Delivery Format
The Ed.D. program will use a hybrid (combining synchronous and asynchronous online delivery with face-to-face opportunities) model for program delivery.
Because our program views interpersonal interactions as a crucial leadership skill, students will have opportunities to meet regularly with their cohort members and program faculty. We have designed the program to have monthly, on-campus experiences from August to May in each of the first two years. Students will also be on campus periodically (no more than monthly) through the capstone and dissertation work in the final year.
Because our program views interpersonal interactions as a crucial leadership skill, students will have opportunities to meet regularly with their cohort members and program faculty. We have designed the program for working professionals to have 4-6 weekends over the course of each semester.
Students enroll in 6 credits each term (summer, fall, spring) and engage in one hybrid 3-credit course at a time, allowing concentrated focus on specific concepts within an 8-week period. Typical Ed.D. courses will take place on weekends, with each course having three Friday evenings (5-9 pm) and Saturday (8 am-5 pm) sessions.
Note regarding COVID-19: We recognize and acknowledge that we are recruiting for the Ed.D. program in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since March 2020, the Ed.D. program has been delivered completely online with a mix of synchronous and asynchronous activities. We do not have a timeline yet, but this Ed.D. program will return to hybrid courses that blend in-person activities with online delivery as it is safe to do so.
